The English Montreal School Board (EMSB) is proud to welcome new students for Kindergarten for four and five year olds (K4-K5), and beyond!

Complete the online form to secure your place on the numbered list. Appointments are confirmed by schools on a first‑come, first‑served basis. Use the link below to find your school of choice and submit the form.
If you qualify for English Instruction in Quebec
You must bring the following original documents with you to register your child.
- Long Version Birth Certificate (showing both parents' names)
- Immigration papers (required if not born in Canada)
- Citizenship of parent
- Child's most recent report card (for grades 1-6)
- Vaccination booklet
- Proof of residence (lease and driver's license/utility invoice etc.)
- Certificate of Eligibility* If you do not yet have your COE, a member of the school team will apply on your behalf using your Quebec Permanent Code
If you do not qualify for English Instruction in Quebec
In order to qualify for English Instruction in Quebec Public Schools, students must meet certain eligibility criteria under the Charter of the French Language as set out by the Quebec government.

Edinburgh welcomes students and their families to Canada from all over the world. Families living Quebec on a temporary basis (work or school visa) can be eligible to send their children to an English public school.

Our Territory
Each elementary school within the EMSB serves the community within it's boundaries. Children living within these boundaries and their siblings have priority over children living outside of the school boundaries when registering at the school. Students living outside of the school boundaries are not eligible for bussing.
